If you had just a … If you had just a minute to breathe
And they granted you one final wish
Would you ask for something like another chance
Or something similar as this
Don’t worry too much, it’ll happen to you
As sure as your sorrows or joys
And the thing that disturbs you is only the sound
Of the low spark of high-heeled boys
I believe that is … I believe that is Jim Gordon on drums. He was a pretty famous session guy who played & recorded with several groups . Most noteably w/ George Harrison on the “All Things Must Pass” LP. I think he went to jail for killing his mom.?
sorry! you’ve got … sorry! you’ve got this all wrong! it’s not so much drugs! it’s about being used by the music industry. They make the money, you go on the road, Write the songs and do the work, they cash ‘in!’ Strip you and buy a new car.!
Love this song … Love this song since 1972 or something…”this is drugs” mharrin was right in a way–Listen to the lyrics…it’s about being stoned–but also about growing up. Weird, huh?–there were AND ARE things in the mind denied by the straight world. It doesn’t take drugs to bring them out–this music will do it!!–but that’s what we used at the time. Dream on, Mr Fantasy…
Yeah, sad to know … Yeah, sad to know that they passed away along with their era. But what a lot of listening pleasure is in store for new fans, who want to go searching through their back catalog.
Well all things … Well all things have their place in time. Too many humans get trapped in this mentality of badges and grants which should be bestowed upon artists they admire. I’m an artist and regarde myself as being just as being super talented — I know I’ll probably die completely unrecognized. It doesn’t matter because I do it because I need to. Traffic made some ok music, not altogether consistent and (to me) are similar to War. Many still listen to them and they are occasionally played on the radio.
During the sixties/ … During the sixties/seventies Traffic was appreciated and had a big following… but they’re forgotten today. Must dont even know who traffic is. They are unappreciated for all of theyre musical contributions today
I don’t feel they … I don’t feel they get the recognition that a lot of other big names do..what I mean is there are people I meet all the time that have no idea who these great musicians are…add Leon Russell to the list as well.
