Is this outfit appropriate for a synagogue?
Sunday, November 13th, 2011I’m going to a Jewish Synagogue for a Bat Mitzvah, I have never never been a synagogue, but I have been to a variety of Christian churches. The lady said skirt and suit is the apparel so I bought an appropriately cut dress and some heels, but now I am stressing about appropriateness because I don’t know what they consider to be okay. I’m wearing pink heels (the only cute, decently priced pair Kohls had, black stockings, and a cheetah print dress (attaching pics below). It looks very appropriate to me…but is it appropriate for a synagogue?

Honest opinions please.
Sorry, the file wouldn’t open, so I couldn’t see the outfit. That being said, the rule of thumb is modesty, meaning fairly loose clothes that are not cut low to show cleavage or too short to reveal too much leg. I’m sure you want to be respectful to the people there and that your outfit will reflect that. Looking fashionable or trendy is fine as long as you follow the other guidelines mentioned.
